Budget Not Leaked,After Reading Old Budget In Rajasthan Assembly:Ashok Gehlot

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot read out last year’s Budget speech for several minutes before he realised his mistake and apologised.

Opposition BJP members disrupted the state budget presentation on Friday in the Rajasthan Assembly, claiming that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot was reading from an earlier budget.

The budget has officially leaked, according to the BJP, because state government employees scrambled to obtain a copy. The budget copy should only be brought by the Chief Minister; nevertheless, Pratap Singh Singhvi, a BJP MLA from Chhabra, demanded that the Chief Minister deliver a new budget after noting that the previous one had passed through four or five hands.

Immediately after the House reconvened, the Chief Minister denied the accusations, claiming there had been no leak and that the new budget materials included an extra page from the previous year’s budget that had been included for reference

“The BJP merely wants to demonstrate that it opposes Rajasthan’s development and advancement. They are not going to spare the budget from their petty politics, as seen by their fake claim that the budget was leaked. The BJP is the only challenge in “Bachat, Rahat, Badhat,” “He used Hindi to tweet. This year’s state budget has the slogan “Bachat, Rahat, Badhat” (saving, relief, and progress).

Instead of reading from the budget for 2023–24, Mr. Gehlot read passages on urban employment and the krishi budget. The Opposition surged into the House well as soon as he made the first two announcements, which were included in the Budget 2022–23.

Vasundhara Raje, a BJP politician and former chief minister, remarked that a chief minister who appears before the assembly without having read or reviewed the budget he will submit demonstrates how he is in charge of his state. A state like that would undoubtedly suffer, she argued.

“For eight minutes, the Chief Minister continued to read the previous budget in Rajasthan Assembly. This is a first in history. I have also held the position of Chief Minister. Before taking the budget in my hands, I used to read it twice or even three times and double-check everything. You can tell how secure the state is in the hands of a Chief Minister if he can bring such a large document into the legislature without examining it and read the previous budget “She she added.

Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, an MP for Jodhpur and Union Minister, made fun of the Chief Minister by claiming that when running for office, he read aloud the previous budget.

“Gehlot ji is still very reckless; he promoted the current budget while reading the previous one!

The Chief Minister’s light went out just as the people was picturing a ray of hope amid the gloom brought on by misgovernance.

The Rajasthan Assembly House was adjourned when Speaker CP Joshi pleaded with the opposition to maintain order, but they persisted in their commotion. The Speaker requested that the proceedings be thrown out.

BJP MLAs staged a sit-in inside the House well following the adjournment.Given that the state will be holding assembly elections later this year, this will be the last budget of the current administration.

Mr. Gehlot has frequently stated that the 2019 budget will put a priority on youth and women and will fulfil the ambitions of the people of the state with an eye towards the impending crucial state elections, when the grand old party is attempting to retain power.
