Google images of Chabad House, Colaba, one of the 26/11 targets, were retrieved from two terror suspects detained in Rajasthan for planning an attack. Following the occurrence, the police increased security outside the Jewish community centre.
“The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) discovered some Google images of Chabad House in Colaba from the accused. They enlightened us. As a result, we have increased the security at Chabad House, which was already exceedingly secure. A simulated drill was also conducted on Thursday in the centre and surrounding area, according to a Colaba police officer.
Mohammad Imran Mohammad Yunus Khan, 23, and Mohammad Yunus Mohammad Yakub Saki, 24, both of Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, have been taken into detention by the ATS from the Pune police.
Further investigation led to the seizure of the accused’s computers, laptops, pen drives, and hard drives, the officer said, adding, “The ATS discovered that the accused had been trained in a variety of sabotage techniques. The two suspects’ rented flat yielded a white explosive substance that was used for device explosion tests in remote areas of Pune, Satara and Kolhapur districts, leading to the filing of severe UAPA charges.

“Among the items that have been seized from them are Google images of Colaba, details of their plan and required execution, and the action,” the investigating officer stated before the Pune court while requesting 14-day custody of the suspects. The court ordered ATS to be held until August 5.
The accused were embroiled in anti-national activity in their hometown and are wanted by the NIA, the court was informed. Officer: “They hid in Pune for one and a half years, and we must investigate what their plan was and who helped them hide here.”
