The Mumbai-Navi Mumbai Sea Bridge Project, India’s Longest

India’s longest bridge, the under-construction Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, is likely to be open to the public towards the end of this year.

The completion of India’s longest sea bridge project, which will link Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, is anticipated for the end of this year.It is no small feat to construct a bridge about 22 kilometres in length, over 16 kilometres of which must span water. This week on TOI Business Bytes, the Commissioner of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), Sanjay Mukherjee, discusses the use of worldwide best practises in the construction of this massive project. as a result of its one-of-a-kind design, toll system, and planned connecting projects, it will shorten the time it takes to get from Mumbai to Navi Mumbai International Airport, Pune, and even Goa.Sanjay Mukherjee claims that the areas served by the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link are some of the most rapidly developing in India. He is also confident that the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link will boost GDP in the state of Maharashtra by at least 5% due to the improved accessibility it will bring.

The Mumbai-Navi Mumbai Sea Bridge Project, India's Longest

The mumbai Trans Harbour Linkwas constructed with a century in mind. The longest sea bridge in India would allow cars to make the trip from Mumbai to Navi Mumbai in under an hour. The MMRDA claims that the International Cooperation Agency (JICA) provided a significant portion of the funding for this engineering feat. The installation of orthotropic steel decking has eliminated the potential for environmental and navigational hazards in the bay area. In comparison to concrete or composite girders, this one weighs less and is more robust. JICA claims that India is the first country to execute this.
