Namami Gange Project: Goods Worth ₹ 37 Lakh For Stolen From godown in UP’s Etawah

Half a dozen unidentified people stole goods worth ₹ 37 lakh of the Namami Gange Project kept in a godown near Tehsil headquarters in the Bharthana Kotwali area here last night, police said.

Last night, six unidentified individuals stole 37 lakh worth of Namami Gange Project products from a warehouse in the Bharthana Kotwali area near the Tehsil headquarters, according to police.
The unidentified individuals held as hostages the two armed security officers stationed at the warehouse.

The police are presently conducting an investigation.Last night, in an unidentified vehicle, the accused allegedly stole products worth 37 lakh from the store of the Namami Gange project’s construction organisation.Amit Kumar Srivastava, administrative manager of the Namami Gange Project, has asked the police to expose the incident.

Amit Kumar said, “The police have initiated the investigation by filing charges against four unidentified individuals. While investigating the crime scene, the top police officers gathered evidence by contacting a finger expert team and a forensics team. Additionally, they questioned the security officers stationed there.”

Inspector General (IG) Kanpur, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), and other senior officials arrived at the scene upon learning of the incident, SSP Sanjeev Kumar Verma said “Some brass objects had been recovered through the Namami Gange Project. Approximately 58 cartons are missing. Some individuals have carried out the incident. The incident will be revealed shortly, and the accused will be punished severely.”
