Suryakumar Yadav’s stormy innings helped India set Sri Lanka a target of 229 runs in the third and deciding T20 match played in Rajkot on Saturday. Chasing the target, the Sri Lankan team was reduced to 137 runs. India won the match by 91 runs and won the series 2-1. Surya scored an unbeaten 112 runs.
Batting first, the Indian team scored 228 runs losing five wickets in 20 overs. Electing to bat first after winning the toss, the Indian team got off to a decent start, losing two wickets in the first powerplay and scoring 53 runs. After the dismissal of opener Ishan Kishan (1), Rahul Tripathi (35) made quick shots. Karunaratne made him his victim. At the same time, Shubman Gill looked in good touch at the other end.

Hardik and Hooda failed to play big innings. Akshar Patel played an unbeaten 21-run cameo innings off 9 balls. Sri Lanka’s Dilshan Madhushanka got two and Rajitha, Karunaratna and Hasaranga got one wicket each.
Sri Lanka’s innings was reduced to 137 runs.
Chasing the target, Sri Lanka got off to a modest start. The first wicket fell on the score of 44. Kusal Medins became the victim of Akshar by scoring 15 runs. After this the team could not recover and wickets kept falling at intervals. Kusal Medins played an inning of 23 runs. Dhananjay D’Silva scored 22 runs, Captain Dasun Shanka scored 23 runs. Apart from this, no other batsman could play any big innings. For India, Arshdeep got three, Hardik Pandya, Umran Malik and Chahal got two wickets each. One wicket was in the name of Umran Malik.
