Following the opening of an attack by the Palestinian Islamist organization Hamas on Israel, US President Joe Biden reportedly informed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the United States was prepared to provide “all appropriate means of support.”
“I assured Prime Minister Netanyahu that our readiness to provide any suitable form of assistance to the Government and people of Israel was crystal clear,” Joe Biden said in a statement following his conversation with Netanyahu.
“Israel is permitted to defend its people and nation.” He added, “The United States issues a warning to any hostile party toward Israel that may attempt to gain an advantage in this situation.”
Furthermore, Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized the need for a “prolonged campaign” and expressed gratitude to Biden for his “unwavering support.”
The Israel prime minister wrote on X (previously Twitter) that US President Joe Biden called Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and emphasized that the United States firmly supports Israel’s right to self-defense.
“Prime Minister Netanyahu expressed his gratitude to US President Biden for his unwavering support and emphasized the imperative of a prolonged, forceful campaign, which Israel is certain to triumph over,” the statement continued.
The Hamas assaults were also met with “unequivocal condemnation” from US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
“We condemn unequivocally the abhorrent acts of terrorism committed against Israel by Hamas.” Antony Blinken stated, “We extend our condolences to the Israeli people and government on behalf of those lives lost in these attacks and stand in solidarity with them.”

Daniel Hagari, an army spokesman, stated that this occurred hours after the incursion began, while Israeli forces were still engaged in combat with Hamas in 22 locations near the Gaza Strip, including municipalities and other communities. At least seventy people were murdered and hundreds were injured, according to the Israeli national rescue service, making it the deadliest attack in Israel in years. Additionally, Israeli civilians and soldiers were captured and transported to Gaza.
