In an unexpected turn of events, SDM Jyoti Maurya, a Provincial Civil Service officer in Bareilly, has been implicated in corruption allegations. As accusations and counter-accusations are being made, the case has gained widespread attention. A 100-page diary has been released to the media by Jyoti’s spouse, adding fuel to the fire. Each month, Jyoti allegedly collected an astonishing 600,000 rupees using unofficial means, as detailed in the diary. After an exhaustive investigation, the veracity of Jyoti’s claims will become clear. Alok Maurya, Jyoti’s husband, has lodged a complaint at the Home Guard headquarters in response to the allegations. In response to his complaint, Home Guard DIG V.K. Maurya has assigned the investigation to Deputy Commandant General Santosh Kumar. In the meantime, an investigation into the participation of female officers at the Bareilly sugar facility is also ongoing.

Each Page Reveals Intrigue-Inducing Details

Alok Kumar Maurya, a resident of Prayagraj who is presently employed by the Panchayat Raj Department, has discovered swastika symbols both above and below each diary page. Alongside the symbols are inscribed positive phrases. In addition, each page emphasizes the sum of money received from various donors. Alok asserts that this handwriting is Jyoti’s.

Accounting for Corruption in the Diary

From 2019 to 2021, Jyoti Maurya served as a probationary officer for the Kaushambi tea subdivision. During this time period, the journal documents the accounting of illicitly acquired funds. In just one month, October 2021, Jyoti allegedly earned 604,000 rupees unofficially. Monthly payments of 15,000 rupees to the supply inspector and 16,000 rupees to the marketing inspector are also recorded in the journal. On each page of the journal, the amounts obtained through corruption are scrupulously recorded.

Trouble Begins After 2020

Alok disclosed that he married Jyoti in 2010, after which he supported her educational pursuits. Jyoti received training and ultimately attained the third position among women and the sixteenth position overall within the Public Service Commission. Their family was ecstatic. They welcomed twin daughters in 2015. Everything appeared to be in order until 2020.

“Friendship on Facebook with District Commandant of Home Guards”

In 2020, according to Alok, Jyoti befriended the District Commandant of Home Guards in Ghaziabad. Considering their professional relationship, Alok saw nothing untoward in their increased frequency of conversation. Jyoti failed to log out of her Facebook account on her mobile phone in 2022. Alok was disgusted to discover their explicit conversations. Jyoti resorted to physical violence and threatened to send him to prison when he objected. On December 22, 2022, Alok was apprehended in a Lucknow hotel. He claimed to have escaped unscathed.
