Vimal Kumar Yadav was a writer for the Hindi newspaper Dainik Jagran. On Monday night, police arrested the sixth person suspected of killing Yadav from Kharaia Basti in the town of Araria in the state of Bihar.
On Monday night, the police caught two suspects. One was Arjun Sharma from Chanakya Chowk on the border between India and Nepal at Jogbani, and the other was Madhav Yadav from Kharaia Basti in the Araria town area.
In a news release sent out on Tuesday, SP Ashok Kumar Singh said, “All six suspects in the journalist murder case have been arrested.”
Harendra Prasad Singh, the father of the writer who was killed, filed a FIR against eight people at the Raniganj police station. On the day his son was killed, police arrested four of those people.
“The two people who were arrested on Monday night have been in trouble with the law before, and there are several serious cases pending against them,” the SP said.
Yadav, a journalist who was 40 years old, was shot and killed at his home in Bihar’s Araria area at about 5:30 a.m. on August 18.

Based on a complaint from the dead journalist’s father, Araria police filed a first information report (FIR) against eight people last Friday under sections 302 (murder), 120(B) (criminal conspiracy), and 34 (criminal act done by several people with a common goal) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Arms Act.
