Ranveer Singh surpasses Virat Kohli to become 2022’s most valued celebrity: Report

Actor Ranveer Singh has emerged as India’s most valued celebrity of 2022, according to a new celebrity brand valuation report. With a brand value of $181.7 million, Singh has surpassed star cricketer Virat Kohli who occupied the top spot for five years.

Most valued celebrity: Kroll, a corporate investigation and risk consulting firm, projects that the actor Ranveer Singh is India’s most valued celebrity in 2022.Singh has dethroned cricketer Virat Kohli, who held the top position for five years, with a brand value of $181.7 million, according to the report “Celebrity Brand Valuation Report 2022: Beyond the Mainstream”.

With a brand value of $176.9 million, Kohli is now ranked second. His brand value has decreased for two consecutive years since he stepped down as captain of the men’s cricket team. His brand value was over $237 million in 20220, but dropped sharply to $185.7 million in 2021.

The actor remained in third place with a brand value of $153.6 million. With a valuation of $102.9 million, Alia Bhatt maintained her position as the fourth-most valuable female celebrity.

A brand valuation of $82.9 million placed Deepika Padukone in fifth place.Film industry stars Amitabh Bachchan, Hritik Roshan, and Shah Rukh Khan also made the list of the top ten most valuable celebrities.Sixth on the list was former cricketer MS Dhoni, whose brand is worth over $80 million. Sachin Tendulkar, a former Indian cricket legend, entered the top 10 in 2022, rating eighth with a brand value of $73.6 million.

The estimated total brand value of the top 25 celebrities in 2022 is $1,6 billion, representing an increase of approximately 29.1% from 2021.And for the first time, South Indian celebrities Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna made the list of the top 25 most valuable personalities in India.

Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra and Commonwealth gold medalist PV Sindhu also reached the top 25. Both properties were valued at $26.5 million.

Aviral Jain, Managing Director of Kroll’s Valuation Advisory Services, stated, “The theme of this year’s study is “Beyond the Mainstream,” which acknowledges the rise of sports stars and South Indian stars as influential brand endorsers.”

“2022 was the second consecutive year of box office success for South Indian films, resulting in a high demand for Tollywood actors in the national advertising and media industries,” he added.

“Furthermore, as a result of their outstanding performance at the Olympics and Commonwealth Games, Indian sports stars continue to receive a number of high-profile endorsements, benefiting from less competition from Bollywood stars with limited box office collections.”
