Maharashtra says 562 new COVID cases, 3 deaths in 24 hours

Maharashtra reported 562 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours on Sunday, over 100 fewer infections than the previous day.

On Sunday, Maharashtra reported 562 new cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours, an increase of over 100 infections from the previous day. The state reported 669 cases in a single day on Saturday. The state health department of Maharashtra reported three Covid-19-related fatalities, for a fatality rate of 1.82 percent.

The data indicates that 395 individuals were rescued in the last twenty-four hours. The rate of recovery is 98.13 percent.

Against the backdrop of an increase in daily coronavirus cases and new concerns regarding the H3N2 influenza virus, India’s daily cases increased by 28% on Sunday, with 3,824 individuals testing positive for Covid-19. According to data from the ministry of health, there are 18,389 active patients in the country, representing 0.04 percent of all infections. (4,47,22,605).

While states such as Maharashtra and Delhi are experiencing an increase in the number of cases, authorities say there is no cause for alarm. However, they have advised individuals to take precautions such as donning masks.

Last week, union health secretary Rajesh Bhushan presided over a high-level meeting to review the preparedness status, and he emphasized increasing the Covid testing with a greater proportion of RT-PCR and whole genome sequencing of positive samples.
