128 Covid-positive tests in tricity

Chandigarh reported 47 cases, Panchkula 54 cases, and Mohali 27 cases, bringing the total number of active cases in Tricity to 857 at this time. Tricity recorded 128 new cases of COVID.There are currently 857 active cases in the district.

On Saturday, the number of daily Covid cases in the city increased from 114 to 128. Chandigarh reported 47 new cases, compared to 27 the day before, and Panchkula reported 54 new infections, compared to 50 the day before. In contrast, in Mohali, the number of cases decreased from 37 to 27. There are currently 857 active cases in the tricity, with 310 cases in Mohali, 308 cases in Panchkula, and 239 cases in Chandigarh. The majority of patients are isolated at home, with only a few requiring hospitalization.

Youth arrested for larceny in Chandigarh

Chandigarh The police have arrested a juvenile in connection with a burglary and recovered cash and stolen property. Raja of Sector 35 stated in his complaint that 31,700 in cash, a silver bracelet, and other essential documents were stolen from his shop “Apna Chai Wala” in Sector 36. At the Sector-36 police station, a case has been registered under Sections 380 and 454 of the IPC.

A truck driver was electrocuted and killed in Ambala.

Ambala Saturday in Ambala, a truck driver was electrocuted to death after his vehicle allegedly contacted a high-voltage wire. The deceased has been identified by the police as Ram Kumar alias Raju, a native of Bihar who was there to offload wheat from a warehouse. According to the police, an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

DHS requested to allocate unoccupied quarters at dispensaries

The Chandigarh UT health secretary, Yashpal Garg, has instructed the director of health services, Dr. Suman Singh, to allocate vacant space on the first floors of numerous dispensaries. Following allocations to be completed within a month, DHS has been instructed to submit an inventory of remaining unoccupied quarters so that the UT Administration can determine whether they can be transferred.

SGGS College hosts a commencement ceremony

Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26, Chandigarh, conducted its 43rd convocation for the classes of 2021-22, 2020-21, and 2019-20. More than 1,500 postgraduate and undergraduate students received their degrees during the ceremony.
