Maharashtra Covid cases jump 186% to 711, 218 in Mumbai.

On Tuesday, a total of four deaths that were associated with Covid were recorded, putting the fatality rate at 1.82 percent.

Tuesday saw an 186 percent increase in daily Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra, with 711 new infections reported in the last 24 hours, 281 of which were reported from Mumbai alone. According to the data from the state health bulletin, there are 3,792 active cases in the state.

Following Mumbai with 1,162 active cases are Pune with 781, Thane with 670, and Nagpur with 127 cases.

On Tuesday, a total of four Covid-related fatalities were reported, for a fatality rate of 1.82 percent.

The recovery rate in the state stands at 98.13 percent, with a total of 447 people being discharged in the last 24 hours.

Monday, in response to the increasing number of Covid-19 cases in the state, the district administration of Satara mandated that all employees and officials in government and semi-government offices, colleges, and institutions wear face masks. Ruchesh Jaivanshi, the district collector, also urged district residents to use masks and maintain social distance and hand hygiene in crowded locations such as weekly markets, bus stops, congregations, and weddings.

Similarly, India recorded over 3,000 daily coronavirus cases for the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday, with 3,038 new infections and nine fatalities. Active cases account for 0.05 percent of the nation’s total infections.
