Lahore HC grants Imran khan bail: According to Geo News, the Lahore high court granted former Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan preventative bail from arrest until March 3 in a case involving protests outside the office of the Election Commission of Pakistan. Following the petition’s withdrawal by Khan’s attorney, the high court decided on the second plea, according to Dawn. Following significant theatrics outside the Lahore high court grounds, high court justice Ali Baqar Najafi granted bail to the 70-year-old Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf head. Outside the court, a sizable group of PTI supporters had gathered to welcome Khan as he came for the hearing. He gave everyone two deadlines to appear before the bench: 5 pm and 7:30 pm.
Videos of Khan’s convoy being showered with rose petals as it travelled to the court were widely shared on social media. There was a significant police presence at the court’s main entrance.

Once his party members protested outside the Pakistan EC offices after their leader was disqualified in the Toshakhana case, a terrorism complaint was launched against the former cricket captain last October.

In October of last year, the court granted Khan a pre-arrest bail and summoned him several times. The PTI leader, however, had skipped court due to medical reasons related to injuries sustained in an attempted assassination.
