The spokesperson for the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Mahesh Bharet Tapase, has affirmed that Sharad Pawar will not attend the opposition’s mega-meeting on July 18 in Bengaluru, but will attend the meeting on Tuesday, July 19.

Tapase tweeted that “NCP National President Shri Sharad Pawar Saheb and working President Smt @supriya_sule will attend the opposition parties’ meeting on Tuesday, July 18 in Bengaluru.”

Sharad Pawar, age 82, attended the previous Opposition meeting on June 23 in Patna, Bihar.

Sanjay Raut, leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), also affirmed that Pawar will attend the Bengaluru meeting tomorrow morning.

“After the summit in Patna, today’s meeting in Bengaluru will be decisive. Uddhav Thackeray, leader of the Shiv Sena, will attend the meeting. There was uncertainty regarding Sharad Pawar’s attendance at the meeting. Tomorrow morning, Pawar will attend the meeting in Bengaluru. I assert this with absolute conviction. “Hum Sab Ek Hai!” tweeted Raut.

On July 17-18, at least twenty-four opposition parties will convene at a hotel in Bengaluru in an effort to present a united front against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in New Delhi.

Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, convened the first opposition gathering on June 23 in Patna. Opposition heavyweights, including Pawar, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, met to discuss a road map for an anti-BJP front in time for the Lok Sabha elections the following year.
