Pakistan: 28 killed 150 injured in Peshawar blast.

Peshawar blast : 28 people were killed, 150 were injured the explosion happened at roughly 1:40 pm close to the city’s police lines

Monday, at least 28 people were killed and 150 more were hurt when a bomb went off in a mosque in Peshawar, a city in northern Pakistan. Local news outlets said they thought the explosion was caused by a suicide attack.

The deadly blast happened around 1:40 pm, during afternoon prayers, in the Police Lines area of Peshawar. Several people were taken to the hospital in very bad shape, and the number of people who died in the attack is likely to go up.

From inside the mosque, a video showed pieces of the building on the ground. Because of the blast, one side of the mosque fell down. Geo News said that during prayers, a “suicide attacker” blew himself up inside the mosque. Security officials told the news agency PTI that the suicide bomber was in the front row during prayers when he blew himself up.

Officials said that those who were hurt were taken to the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar. Hospital sources said that 13 of the people who were hurt were in very bad shape. According to Dunya News, the Governor of Peshawar has asked the people who live there to give blood because the number of deaths and injuries keeps going up.

The area is in a state of emergency, and the area has been blocked off. Dawn reported that Peshawar Commissioner Riaz Mehsood said, “An emergency has been declared in all of the city’s hospitals, and those who were hurt are getting the best care possible.”

Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan, spoke out against the blast. Shehbaz Sharif said that the people who set off the bomb inside the mosque “have nothing to do with Islam.”

“Terrorists want to make people afraid by peshawar blast going after those who are supposed to protect Pakistan,” the Pakistan PM said. Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, called for better intelligence gathering to “fight the growing threat of terrorism.”
