Former South African captain AB de Villiers praised Sanju Samson for his brilliant captaincy of Rajasthan Royals and his cool composure. He added that if the right-handed batter continues to perform well for Team India in the coming years, he would not be surprised to see him as the captain of the Playing eleven within the next one or two years.
Samson is now the leading run-scorer for Rajasthan Royals in all T20 matches.
In the current match against Punjab Kings, Samson scored 42(25) runs by hitting five fours and one six. Samson is the only other captain to have led Rajasthan Royals to the championship game during the previous season.
Former South Africa captain AB de Villiers praised Sanju Samson’s brilliant captaincy, stating that Sanju Samson is an exceptional player, but as a captain, it is his cool composure that always stands out. As a commander, he never appears to be bothered by anything, which is a positive sign.
AB de Villiers stated on JioCinema, “But I believe he has all the qualifications to be an excellent commander. Who knows, in a year or two or three, he could very well be the captain of one of the India teams in one of the formats, which I believe would do his cricket the world of good. If he can remain commander for extended periods of time, I believe he will be successful.”
If the right-handed batter continues to perform well for Team India over the next few years, de Villiers would not be astonished to see him as the captain of Team 11 within the next year or two.
