Jaisalmer is a very important place for tourists to visit in Rajasthan. It is called the “Golden City” because it is in the northwestern part of the Indian State and has many golden sand dunes and castles made of golden honey sandstones.
There are a lot of lagoons, beautiful Jain places of worship, and fancy havelis in the city. This is only one side of the story, though. Another thing that Jaisalmer is known for is its unusual desert safari. In the middle of the huge Thar desert, the city is a nice place to stay, and there are many exciting things to do there that will give you an experience you will never forget. There are also many colorful handicraft markets in the city that will take you back in time and give you a taste of Indian culture and history.
Some of the most popular tourist spots in India are in Jaisalmer, such as the majestic Jaisalmer Fort, the full-of-life desert national park, the ancient Kuldhara Village, the beautifully designed Jain temples, the surreal Gadisar Lake, the rustic Sam Sand Dunes, the artistic Tazia Tower and Badal Palace, the intricately designed Patwon ki Haveli, the glorious bada bagh, and many more important places.
When you go to the city of Jaisalmer, you can do a number of exciting and fun things in the desert. Taking a safari tour on a jeep or camel and making your way through the sands is a great thing to do. There’s a lot more fun to be had at the desert camps, too. You will have a great time at the campsite in the evenings watching traditional music and dance shows. People also say that the campsites have the best authentic Rajasthani food you’ve ever tasted.
All year long, it’s hot in Jaisalmer. It has very hot summers from April to July, rainy seasons from July to August, and milder winters from December to March.
