On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Karnataka seer Siddeshwara Swami, who died at his ashram today from age-related illnesses.
The 81-year-old seer from Karnataka had a lot of health problems, but he refused to get any treatment other than painkillers. He had been in a wheelchair for a few weeks because he was sick from getting older.
PM Modi sent a tweet, “People will always remember Paramapujya Sri Siddheshwara Swami Ji for the great things he did for society. He worked hard to help other people and was respected for his desire to learn. In this time of sadness, my thoughts are with the many people who loved him. Om Shanti.”

Monday was the last day for the seer of the Sri Jnana Yogashrama of Vijayapura. He died at his ashram. He was in the hospital because he had a lot of health problems, but he refused to get treatment. Siddeshwara Swami was moved to his ashram later on.
His dead body will stay at his ashram until Tuesday at 8 a.m. After that, his body will also be kept at the Sainik School until 5 p.m., at which point it will be taken to be burned for good.

Former Karnataka chief minister HD Deve Gowda wrote on Twitter, “The news that Sri Siddeshwar Swamiji of Jnana Yogashram in Vijaypur, India, who was the greatest saint and spiritual preacher in the country, has become a Lingayaka has made people very sad. I wish and hope that his soul, which was known as a god on the move, will rest in peace forever and that his followers will have the strength to get through this loss.”
HD Kumaraswamy, the leader of the JD(S), also paid tribute to the spiritual leader. He wrote on Twitter, “For us, the Jnana Yogi Paramapujya Sri Sri Siddeshwara Swamiji of Jnana Yogashram is Shivaikya. He is the walking light, the walking awareness, and the walking God.”
