On Sunday, a gas leak was detected at a factory in Ludhiana, Punjab, causing at least nine deaths and eleven unconsciousnesses, a senior district official said.
NDRF teams have been dispatched to the factory, along with a team of medics and a fire department.

“This is unquestionably a gas discharge case. The NDRF team is present at the scene and will conduct the evacuation and rescue operation. This incident resulted in 9 fatalities and 11 injuries, according to Swati, SDM of Luthiana West.

“The exact cause will not be known until we arrive at the scene of the incident. Another officer stated, “We are awaiting the NDRF, as they are specialists in this field.”
He stated that the injured were transported to the hospital.
The police are present and have sealed off the area.
