A sequence of images displaying the Pragyan rover’s partner, the Vikram lander, were taken by the navigation cameras on the Pragyan rover. These photographs were taken just a few hours after the first image of the Vikram lander was placed on the moon by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). These photographs, which were taken today at 11 a.m. and shared by the Indian space agency, were captured by the rover after it had traveled a distance of around 15 meters.ISRO accompanied the photos with the following text in a social media post that was published on platform X. It said, “Beyond Borders, Across Moonscapes: India’s Majesty knows no bounds!” Another time, fellow traveler Pragyan manages to get a picture of Vikram. Today, at 11 am IST, this classic photograph was captured from around 15 meters away.

The information obtained from the NavCams is processed at the Space Applications Centre of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), which is headquartered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Two different navigation cameras are installed in the front portions of the Pragyan rover. It was created by the Laboratory for Electro-Optical Systems (LEOS), and it is regarded as one of the most capable cameras ever installed on the moon’s surface.

Where is the Pragyan rover that is part of the Chandrayaan 3 mission at the moment?

Along with the photograph, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has also published the Chandrayaan 3 locations. It is located at 69.373 South and 32.319 East, which is quite close to where the Indian space agency has planned to have the landing place of a 4 km x 2.4 km area at 69.367621 South and 32.348126 East.

The picture shows the probes that are attached to the Vikram lander.

This image shows Chandra’s Surface Thermo-physical Experiment (ChaSTE) probe and the Instrument for Lunar Seismic Activity (ILSA) probe, both of which have been put on the surface of the moon by the Vikram lander. Both of these instruments are extremely important.

The ILSA sensor is intended to measure seismic activity in the area surrounding the landing site, therefore providing an outline of the structural composition of the lunar crust and mantle.

On the other hand, the mission ChaSTE is entrusted with carrying out is to perform measurements of the thermal characteristics of the lunar surface in the area of the polar zone. ISRO has already disclosed the temperature profile of the moon by using the thermal probe, which revealed a significant temperature difference between the surface (about 55 degrees Celsius) and a depth of 8 centimeters (-10 degrees Celsius).

In addition, the Vikram lander is equipped with a LASER Retroreflector Array (LRA) and a Radio Anatomy of Moon Bound Hypersensitive Ionosphere and Atmosphere (RAMBHA) for the purposes of comprehending the dynamics of the moon system and measuring the density of the near-surface plasma (ions and electrons) as well as the variations in that density over the course of time, respectively.

One of the most important divisions within ISRO, LEOS is responsible for the design, development, and manufacturing of attitude sensors for all LEO (Low Earth Orbit), GEO (Geostationary Equatorial Orbit), and interplanetary missions. Additionally, this division is responsible for the development and delivery of optical systems for remote sensing and meteorological payloads.

“My Indian patriotism is at an all-time high, and I am in awe of ISRO’s dogged determination as I saw Chandrayaan3 land safely at the South Pole and make history. We are the fourth nation to set foot on the moon and the first to reach the South Pole. According to Pawan Kumar Chandana, CEO and co-founder of Skyroot Aerospace, the first Indian private business to launch into space, “the century belongs to India” because of the precision and low cost with which this mission was completed.

This is a watershed moment for the whole space industry, not just India’s. As we saw with the recent Luna 25 Mission, the difficulties of space exploration are enormous and merciless. The difficulties of making a smooth landing on another celestial body are even greater.

Landing at the Moon’s South Pole Was a Success” Reaching the lunar south pole would represent a significant step forward in human exploration and a demonstration of India’s strong and capable space sector. It’s time for the New Space ecosystem to cash in on the world’s attention on ISRO and India and deliver, said Sharma.

Chandrayaan 3 mission(ISRO)

On Wednesday, with less than 48 hours remaining until the Chandrayaan-3’s scheduled soft impact on the lunar surface, India will witness the final 20 minutes of utmost importance. If the mission is successful, India will join the United States, Russia, and China as the fourth nation to accomplish a soft landing on the Moon and will emerge as a space superpower.

According to reports citing experts, the final 20 minutes will be devoted to the spacecraft’s gentle touchdown. While ISRO mission scientists will programme the landing one day in advance, the final few minutes will be autonomous.

Chandrayaan 3 mission on schedule: ISRO

The ISRO announced on Tuesday that the Chandrayaan-3 mission, which is scheduled to soft-land on the lunar surface on August 23, is proceeding as planned. The space agency wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, “Systems are undergoing regular checks, and smooth sailing continues.”

ISRO also shared a video of moon images acquired by the Lander Position Detection Camera (LPDC) from an altitude of approximately 70 kilometres. “LPDC images assist the Lander Module in determining its position (latitude and longitude) by matching them against an onboard moon reference map,” stated the document.

Chandrayaan 3 lunar landing likely to be postponed?

According to a senior ISRO scientist, the national space agency will only attempt the landing if conditions are “favourable” on the scheduled date; otherwise, another attempt will be made on August 27.

“Two hours before Chandrayaan-3 descends on the Moon, a decision will be made based on the health of the lander module and the conditions on the Moon as to whether or not it is appropriate to land at that time. If any circumstance appears unfavourable, we will land the module on the Moon on August 27,” Nilesh M. Desai, director of ISRO’s Space Applications Centre, told the news agency ANI.

Where should I watch it and when?

On August 20, ISRO published a tweet outlining how people may see Chandrayaan-3 successfully complete its lunar mission before the momentous day.

ISRO said the “eagerly anticipated event” will be live streamed on Wednesday “starting from 17:27 Hrs. IST” in a post on its official website. Several outlets, including the ISRO website, YouTube, ISRO’s Facebook page, and DD National TV channel, will offer live coverage.

“As a result, all schools and educational institutions across the country are invited to take part actively in this historic event,” the ISRO continued. The institutions are requested to vigorously promote this event among their teachers and students and to set up on-site LIVE broadcast of Chandrayaan-3’s gentle landing.

On NDTV, you can also see the historic event happen live.

the lander is scheduled to soft-land near the South Pole of the Moon. The lander will begin its descent to the lunar surface from a height of almost 100 kilometres. The soft landing is a challenging problem since it requires both rough and precise braking. Before touching down, the area around the landing spot will be imaged to locate any potential dangers or safe havens. One lunar day is equivalent to 14 earth days, so after the soft landing the six-wheeled rover will roll out and conduct tests on the lunar surface for that length of time.ISRO is taking every precaution to assure the success of the lunar trip, having learned from the mistakes of the Chandrayaan-1 and Chandrayaan-2 missions. The scientific community and the general public are both extremely excited for the upcoming Chandrayaan-3 landing. This historic mission might substantially advance our understanding of the Moon’s mysterious topography while also solidifying India’s place as a global space leader.

Chandrayaan-3 has completed EMI/EMC (Electro – Magnetic Interference/ Electro-Magnetic Compatibility) testing at the U R Rao Satellite Centre in Bengaluru. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) revealed on Sunday that the test was conducted between January 31 and February 2.

WHAT IS EMI-EMC Evaluation?

For satellite missions, the EMI-EMC test is undertaken to ensure the performance of satellite subsystems in the space environment and their compatibility with the anticipated electromagnetic levels.

Isro stated in a statement that this test represents an important milestone in the realisation of the satellites.

Three key modules comprise the interplanetary project Chandrayaan-3: the Propulsion module, the Lander module, and the Rover. The complexity of the operation necessitates creating radio-frequency (RF) communication links between the components, according to Isro.

During the EMI/EMC test, the launcher compatibility, antenna polarisation of all RF systems, standalone auto compatibility tests for the orbital and powered descent mission phases, and Lander & Rover compatibility tests for the post-landing mission phase were verified.

According to the Isro, the performance of the systems was deemed good.

ABOUT CHANDRAYAAN-3

The Chandrayaan-3 mission is a follow-up to the Chandrayaan-2 mission. It comprises of a lander-rover configuration and will demonstrate end-to-end capability in safe landing and wandering on the lunar surface. In spite of the fact that the Indian space agency has not yet provided any information regarding the launch dates, it is quite likely that they will take place in the second or third quarter of 2023. The purpose of the mission is to gain a deeper knowledge of the composition of the Moon. Isro has outlined three primary goals for the mission, which include demonstrating a safe and soft landing on the lunar surface, demonstrating the rover’s capabilities for roving on the moon, and performing in-situ scientific observations.
