KCR’s Daughter Questioned 9 hours, Summoned Again On March 16

K Kavitha questioned: A key focus of the investigation into the Delhi liquor policy case is on an alleged network of middlemen, businessmen and politicians which the central agencies have called the “South Group”

K Kavitha questioned: K Kavitha, representative of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi and daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate for nine hours in the Delhi liquor policy case. She will be summoned once more on March 16.

In the same case, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is already in ED detention. He was also detained by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for alleged corruption in the drafting of Delhi’s new liquor policy, which was subsequently rescinded.

An important emphasis of the investigation into the Delhi liquor policy case is an alleged network of middlemen, businesspeople, and politicians that the central agencies have dubbed “South Group.”The Enforcement Directorate alleged that Mr. Sisodia modified the liquor policy without consultation in order to benefit the “South Group” companies.

Ms. Kavitha is one of the “South Group” members operating under the radar. Her father, K Chandrasekhar Rao, also known as KCR, is a prominent central opposition leader. This has led to accusations that the BJP-led central government is using central agencies to harass opposition leaders with fraudulent cases.

“In India, there is no distinction between summonses issued by the Enforcement Directorate and those issued by (Narendra) Modi… Whenever there is an election, it is customary for the Enforcement Directorate to arrive prior to 5:00 p.m. What options do opponents have? Ms. Kavitha advised, “Go to the people’s court or the Supreme Court.” Ms. Kavitha, 44, has stated that the BJP is attempting to “intimidate my leader.” “, alluding to her father KCR, who is vying for a third consecutive term in power in the state’s upcoming assembly elections.

The AAP has denied accepting bribes from traders or politicians during the formulation of the Delhi liquor policy. The BJP asserts that the AAP would not have rescinded its liquor policy if it was certain it had not committed any wrongdoing.
