Delhi-Mumbai Expressway
Gurugram, Jagran Correspondent. Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The Delhi-Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway will be a unique expressway in the country. This will be the first expressway, in which a median of 21 meters is being made. The benefit from this would be that the expressway can be made from eight lanes to 12 lanes if required.
Fighter planes can be landed at more than 30 places between Delhi and Mumbai. For landing fighter planes, the straight length of the road should be at least three kilometers and the width should be at least 20 meters. Both the parts of the expressway are about 20-20 meters wide. There are more than 30 parts whose straight length is more than three kilometers.
National capital and economic capital will join
The 1380 km long Delhi-Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway (DVM Expressway) is being constructed with the aim of improving the connectivity of several cities from the national capital Delhi to the financial capital Mumbai. It has been divided into several parts for better and faster construction.
The section from village Alipur in Gurugram district to Dausa in Rajasthan will become operational from February 15. In Gujarat, work is going on very fast between Vadodara and Mumbai. It is expected that it will be ready this year. The target is to have the entire project ready by the end of next year.
First expressway connecting six states
The DVM Expressway will be the country’s first expressway, not two or three but will improve connectivity among the cities of six states Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra. Connectivity will improve mainly from Delhi and Mumbai to Alwar, Dausa, Jaipur, Kishangarh, Ajmer, Kota, Chittorgarh, Udaipur in Rajasthan, Bhopal, Ujjain, Indore in Madhya Pradesh, Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat in Gujarat.
The Express is being connected to Jewar Airport in Noida and Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Mumbai. The expressway will directly connect the national capital Delhi near DND. From there, the link road will reach Mindkola in Palwal district via Kalindikuj and meet the DVM Expressway.
Two tunnels of four kilometers each
Special care has also been taken of wildlife. Keeping this in mind, two eight-lane tunnels are being constructed. A four kilometer long tunnel is being built under the Mukundra Sanctuary in Rajasthan. Similarly, a four kilometer long tunnel is also being constructed in the Matheran eco-sensitive zone of Maharashtra. Emphasis is being laid on making animal overpasses for the movement of wild animals.
