Lachulung La

Overview

Other than Khardung La or Baralacha La, Ladakh has many other high passes that have served as the region’s glory for many years. Khardung La may primarily dull the glitz of other routes, but all of the other passes are equally significant. Lachulung La is just one illustration. This pass’ elevation, 5059 meters above sea level, is thought to be the most thrillingly perilous of all the passes after Khardung La. On the boundary between Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir is Lachulung La. Additionally, it divides the Tsarap Chu and Tozay basins. You will be able to traverse this pass, also known as Lachalung La, Lungalacha La, etc., if you take the Leh-Manali highway.

Before you travel to this pass, keep in mind that it is only accessible during the summer for four and a half months. Any traveler should be prepared to avoid becoming ill while conquering Lachulung La because of its location, height, uneven terrain, and remote towns it passes through, all of which may have a dramatic impact on your body. Lachulung, one of Ladakh’s most challenging peaks, is a popular destination for thrill seekers. Additionally, the surroundings are quite fictional because of the imposing Himalayan passes and the neighboring nature’s soothing images. Trekkers should take great care as they ascend because altitude sickness is guaranteed at the top. They should also stay hydrated to keep their bodies in good shape for the weather. However, the descent is simple and smooth, making you happy all the way to the bottom.
