Lucknow: Examiners will evaluate the UP Board’s high school and intermediate examination-2023 answer sheets for the first time on March 18 after receiving audio-visual training presentations.
This measure has been taken to ensure that answer documents are evaluated without error.
Secondary Education Council Secretary Divya Kant Shukla announced on Friday that, for the first time, examiners, deputy chief examiners, and their deputy controllers have been trained through an audio-video presentation at the regional office level in order to ensure an error-free evaluation of answer sheets.
The training was concluded in the regional offices of Meerut, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, and Varanasi on March 12, 13, 14, and 16, respectively.
In an endeavour to ensure error-free evaluation of answer papers, the government of Uttar Pradesh has established 258 evaluation centres throughout the state.
Divya Kant Shukla, secretary of the Secondary Education Council, announced on Friday that 258 centres for evaluating high school and intermediate exam answer papers have been established in the state.
In 258 locations, Section 144 of the 1973 Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) will remain in effect.
Section 144 prohibits gatherings of four or more individuals.
Evaluation of response sheets will continue through April 1.
During this time frame, approximately 1.86 billion high school answer sheets will be evaluated by 89,698 examiners, according to his statement.
In addition, 54,235 examiners have been appointed to evaluate 1.33 billion intermediate answer sheets.
The official added that approximately 1.44 million examiners have been appointed to evaluate 3.19 billion answer sheets.
Mr. Shukla stated that a total of 1,43,933 examiners have been appointed to evaluate 3.19 billion answer papers.
Before evaluating begins at their respective evaluation centers, the Deputy Controller or Principal of the evaluation centres will train the appointed examiners and deputy chief examiners in the evaluation of answer sheets.
Additionally, Divya Kant Shukla stated that the responsibility of evaluation centres has been delegated to magistrates who will be assigned to the task.
In addition, the principal of each district’s DIET (District institute of Education and Training) has been appointed as superintendent to oversee all evaluation centres located within each district.

In addition, stringent security arrangements have been made for the evaluation centres. Section 144 has been implemented within a 100-meter radius of evaluation centres. In addition, provisions have been made for the deployment of at least four armed police officers and the deployment of local intelligence unit/police personnel in plain uniform for the duration of the evaluation.
According to Secretary Divya Kant Shukla, evaluation work will be required to be supervised by CCTV equipped with a voice recorder.
“Arrangements have also been made for continuous monitoring of all centres from the district and state-level control room to ensure that the evaluation is properly monitored,” he added.
