Ukraine’s 1st Dy Foreign Minister Emine Dzhaparova to visit India on 9th Apr

Dzhaparova and Verma are expected to discuss bilateral relations, the current situation in Ukraine, and global issues of mutual interest during their meeting.

Emine Dzhaparova, the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine, will visit India for four days beginning on Sunday. This will be the first official visit from the East European nation since the Russian invasion began last year.

Dzhaparova will engage in conversation with Sanjay Verma, Secretary (West) at the Ministry of External Affairs. (MEA).

It is anticipated that the Ukrainian deputy foreign minister will extend an invitation to visit Ukraine to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On Saturday, the MEA issued a statement announcing Dzhaparova’s trip to India.

“From April 9 to April 12, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Emine Dzhaparova, will be on an official visit to India,” it stated.

It is anticipated that Dzhaparova and Verma will discuss bilateral relations, the current situation in Ukraine, and global issues of mutual interest during their meeting.

Dzhaparova will also meet with Meenakshi Lekhi, Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, and Vikram Misri, Deputy National Security Adviser.

Since the Ukraine conflict began in February of last year, Prime Minister Modi has had multiple conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

In a phone call with President Zelenskyy on October 4, 2014, Modi stated that there is “no military solution” and that India is willing to contribute to any peace efforts.

India has not yet condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine and has maintained that the crisis must be resolved diplomatically and through dialogue.

The MEA stated that India and Ukraine enjoy warm and friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation.

“Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 30 years ago, bilateral cooperation between the two countries has made significant strides in the areas of commerce, education, culture, and defense,” the document stated.

“The visit will be an opportunity to advance mutual understanding and interests,” the statement continued.
