According to the Ministry of National Defense (MND), Taiwan tracked 10 Chinese military aircraft and 2 naval ships around the country on Tuesday, as reported by Taiwan News.
Between 6 a.m. on Monday, March 20, and 6 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21, military aircraft and naval vessels were tracked around Taiwan.
According to Taiwan News, Taiwan deployed aircraft, naval ships, and land-based missiles to monitor PLA aircraft and vessels.
According to the MND, three of the ten People’s Liberation Army (PLA) aircraft were detected in Taiwan’s air defence identification zone (ADIZ).
Taiwan News reported that a Shaanxi Y-8 anti-submarine warfare aircraft and a Harbin BZK-005 reconnaissance drone entered the southwest corner of Taiwan’s ADIZ, while a Harbin Z-9 anti-submarine warfare helicopter was observed in the southeast sector.

During this time, no PLA aircraft crossed the Taiwan Strait median line.
MND tracked 28 Chinese military aircraft and four naval vessels around Taiwan on Wednesday.
Beijing has dispatched 292 military aircraft and 76 naval vessels to Taiwan so far this month. Taiwan News reports that since September 2020, China has increased its use of grey zone tactics by routinely dispatching aircraft into Taiwan’s ADIZ.
The definition of grey zone tactics is “an effort or series of efforts beyond steady-state deterrence and assurance that attempts to achieve one’s security objectives without the use of direct and substantial force.”
After US White House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan on August 2-3, 2022, China stepped up its military activity and conducted live-fire exercises in six locations across the country in early August 2022.
