WPL 2023 opener match rescheduled: The WPL 2023 opener match of the inaugural season has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 4, with a delayed start time at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The match between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants will begin 30 minutes later than scheduled, at 8 p.m. IST.
The Women’s Premier League inaugural ceremony will begin at 6:25 pm IST, according to a press release from the T20 tournament. Unknown is the cause for the delayed start time.The historic first-ever WPL match will be tossed off at 7:30.

Fans will be able to witness the grand inauguration ceremony, which will begin at 6:25 p.m. IST, once the gates open at 4:00 p.m. IST, according to a press release.
Notably, Kiara Advani and Kriti Sanon will perform at the DY Patil Stadium for the WPL’s opening ceremony, which will be a lavish affair. At the event, singer and songwriter AP Dhillon will perform some of his chart-topping hits. In the historic WPL match, Harmanpreet Kaur will head the Mumbai Indians, while Beth Mooney will lead the Gujarat Giants.

In the inaugural season of the WPL, five teams will compete for the championship over 22 matches played at two venues in Mumbai from March 4 to March 28.UP Warriorz and Delhi Capitals will play the final encounter of the league stage on March 21 at the Brabourne Stadium. On March 24, the Eliminator will be contested at the DY Patil Stadium. On March 26, 2023, the Women’s Premier League Final will be contested at Brabourne Stadium.

Smriti Mandhana, who will represent Royal Challengers Bangalore, is the only other Indian captain, while Meg Lanning and Alyssa Healy will captain Delhi Capitals and UP Warriorz, respectively.
On Sunday, March 5, RCB will face Delhi Capitals on the second matchday of the WPL 2023 at the Brabourne Stadium.
