India has a holiday called Republic Day every 2023 on January 26. This year, Republic Day 2023 is on Thursday, and it is the 74th time the day has been celebrated. President Draupadi Murmu will start the celebrations by putting up the national flag on the newly opened Kartavaya Path, which used to be called Rajpath. History and Meaning of Republic Day 2023: Republic Day marks the day that the Constitution of India was signed on January 26, 1950. India got rid of the British Raj in 1947, but it wasn’t a sovereign state until January 26, 1950, when the Constitution of India went into effect. This made India a republic. The first meeting of the Constituent Assembly was on December 9, 1946, and the last one was on November 26, 1949. The Constitution was passed a year after that. Dr. BR Ambedkar was in charge of the group that wrote the Constitution. India also celebrates Constitution Day on this day.
