Deepti Sharma, a 25-year-old all-rounder who is experienced in the T20 format, too demanded a high price, and UP Warriorz ultimately paid Rs 2.6 crore for her. While India’s captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, was selected by the Mumbai Indians for a fee of Rs 1.8 crore, two of the team’s rising talents, Jemimah Rodrigues and Shafali Verma, were both selected by the Delhi Capitals for fees that exceeded Rs 2 crore. Ashleigh Gardner and Nat Sciver were selected by the five participating franchises as the best international performers.

Here are the Top 5 expensive purchases from the first WPL auction:

Smriti Mandhana, Royal Challengers Bangalore, $3. 4 million

The skilled opener was the first player to go up for auction, and RCB paid the highest price to secure his services. Mandhana may make a strong choice for captain since she has a lot of experience and is well renowned for her stunning strokes from the off-side.

Gujarat Giants’ Ashleigh Gardner earned Rs. 3.2 million.

Ashleigh Gardner, a two-time T20 World Cup champion, was acquired by Gujarat Giants for Rs 3.2 crore. The all-rounder is a key contributor to her country’s team and well-known for both her fielding and batting.

Nat Sciver (Mumbai Indians) : Rs. 3.2 crore

Nat Sciver-Brunt, an English all-rounder, was acquired by Mumbai Indians for Rs 3.2 crore after negotiations with Delhi Capitals and UP Warriorz. Sciver has experience competing for her country’s squad.

In T20s, all-rounders are very essential to a team’s success, and Deepti Sharma is one of the greatest in her field. The fact that UP Warriorz paid premium dollar for her services is not surprising.

Jemimah Rodrigues (Delhi Capitals) received Rs. 2.2 million.

Jemimah is on the rise after scoring the match-winning half-century against Pakistan in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Jemimah was one of the most profitable Indian players in the auction because to her ability to play the finisher’s knock, and she ended up being the player Delhi Capitals spent the most money for.
