Mamata says after seeing Nitish, Tejashwi, “I want BJP to become zero.”

Recently, Nitish Kumar met with Rahul Gandhi, who described the meeting as a “historic effort” to unite the opposition.

Nitish Kumar met with his West Bengal counterpart, Mamata Banerjee, in Kolkata on Monday. The Bihar chief minister was joined by his deputy Tejashwi Yadav at the meeting, which centered on forming a united opposition alliance against the Bharatiya Janata Party in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Following the meeting, the three leaders stated in a joint press conference that the discussions were productive.

“We have held discussions, with a focus on bringing all parties together and making all necessary preparations for the impending parliamentary elections. Whatever occurs next will be in the best interest of the nation. Those currently in charge have nothing to do. They are only promoting themselves. The Bihar chief minister stated that nothing is being done for national development.

“I only have one request for Nitish Kumar. The Jayaprakash ji movement began in Bihar. If we hold an all-party meeting in Bihar, we can then determine our next course of action. But first, we must send the message that we are unified. I previously stated that I have no objections. I want BJP to be eliminated. They have become a major hero with the help and falsehoods of the media,” Mamata said.

“We will proceed jointly. We have no personal ambition and wish to collaborate as a group, she added.

Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav are expected to meet with Akhilesh Yadav, the president of the Samajwadi Party, in Lucknow at 5 p.m. as part of efforts to create a unified opposition for the general elections of 2024.

Nitish Kumar met Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in the capital days prior to this meeting. Following the meeting, Nitish stated at a press conference, “We will attempt to unite as many political parties as possible and move forward together.”
