After witnessing an event at National Science Foundation in Alexandria, Virginia, PM Narendra Modi arrived at the White House.
Wednesday marked the second day of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official state visit to the United States. President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden greeted Modi at the White House in Washington, D.C., as part of the visit. They were observed conversing for approximately one minute before posing for photographs. According to the White House, the trio relished a musical tribute to the regions of India performed by young dancers from Studio Dhoom.
A day before the high-profile state dinner, Modi will have a private engagement at the White House, where the Bidens will entertain the Indian prime minister for an intimate dinner. The US National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan, and his Indian counterpart, Ajit Doval, will join them.
According to the White House, the first spouse will present Prime Minister Modi with a handmade, antique American book galley from the early 20th century. They also present distinct gifts to the prime minister.
Jill Biden will present Modi with a signed, first edition copy of ‘Collected Poems of Robert Frost’, while Joe Biden will present him with a vintage American camera, accompanied by an archival facsimile print of George Eastman’s Patent of the first Kodak camera and a hardcover book on American wildlife photography.

Upon his arrival at Joint Base Andrews in Washington, D.C., Prime Minister Narendra Modi was greeted with a guard of honor and a formal welcome ceremony.

Earlier, he and Jill Biden visited the National Science Foundation in Alexandria, Virginia to emphasize the United States and India’s shared education and workforce priorities. During the visit, the two met with students from the United States and India who are acquiring the skills necessary to succeed in industries that are vital to the economies of both nations.
