US will act to safeguard its sovereignty if China threatens it: Joe Biden

State of the Union 2023: Biden declares US democracy ‘bruised but unbowed and unbroken’; Putin’s invasion of Ukraine has been a test for the ages, says the US President.

On Wednesday, Vice President Joe Biden of the United States delivered his second State of the Union Address. During his talk to the group, he stated that the United States will take protective action in the event that Beijing undermines its sovereignty.

In the midst of rising tensions with China over what is believed to be a surveillance balloon, Vice President Joe Biden made the following statement: “I am dedicated to cooperating with China where it can promote American interests and benefit the world.” But make no mistake about it: as we made clear the previous week, we will take action to safeguard our country if China poses a danger to our sovereignty. And we did.”

The invasion of Ukraine by Russia has been a test for the ages, as well as a test for the rest of the world, Vice President Joe Biden said while criticising his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin for his country’s military aggression. He was referring to the war that is currently taking place in Europe. Would we adhere to the most fundamental of guiding principles?

Would we uphold the principle of sovereignty? Would we support the people’s right to live their lives without being subjected to tyranny? Would we be willing to take a position in defence of democracy? During his remarks, Biden asked a number of different questions.

Biden stated that the democracy in the United States was “unbowed,” and he committed to work with the Republican party. He also mentioned accomplishments in an economy that had recovered from the pandemic, and he emphasised that a Congress that was deeply split could resolve its differences. “We frequently hear that Democrats and Republicans are incapable of cooperating with one another.

But we have shown the cynics and the doubters that they are wrong over the course of the past two years,” stated Biden. “To my friends in the Republican party, if we were able to work together in the last Congress, there is no reason why we won’t be able to work together and reach consensus on vital issues in this Congress as well.”
